The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted the Indian Economic Service/ Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2014 for recruiting eligible candidates in the Indian Economic and Statistical filed. A very large number of candidates have applied for the UPSC IES/ ESS examination. UPSC Economic/ Statistical Services written exam was held on 24/05/2014. at various exam centers all over India.
In a notification issued today (08.02.2014) UPSC has notified the dates of the IES/ISS Exam 2014. A combined competitive examination for recruitment to Junior Time Scale of the
Services mentioned in Para 2 below will be held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing from 24th May, 2014.Last Date for submission of application for IES/ISS 2014 Exam is 10th March 2014. The Online Applications can be filled upto 10th March, 2014 till 11.59 pm, after which the link will be disabled.

Age limit: Candidates  must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st Aug, 2014. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per govt.of india rules.

Educational Qualification

(a) A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a post Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/ Business Economics/ Econometrics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or state Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.
(b) A candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central government from time to time.
Application fees:
The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) [excepting SC/ST/Female/Physically Handicapped candidates who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of Indial State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala / State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

How to Apply:

§  Before start filling up of Online Application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB and must not be less than 3 KB in size for the photograph and 1 KB for the signature.
  • The Online applications (Part I and II) can be filled from 8th Februry, 2014 to 10th March, 2014 till 11.59 p.m., after which link will be disabled.
§  Applicants should avoid submitting multiple applications. However, if due to any unavoidable circumstances, any applicant submits multiple applications then he/ she must ensure that the applications with higher RID is complete in all respects.
§  In case of multiple applications, the applications with higher RID shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID. 
§  The applicants must ensure that while filling their Application Form, they are providing their valid and active E-Mail IDs as the Commission may use electronic mode of communication while contacting them at different stages of examination process.
Candidates are strongly advised to apply online well in time without waiting for the last date for submission of Online Applications.
